As part of London Tech Week, Acorn Aspirations conducted a 2 day hackathon involving students, tech enthusiasts and mental health professionals. Students in the age group of 12-19 years collaborated with mentors from London’s Tech City community to develop digital solutions based on artificial intelligence to help address social problems faced by communities worldwide.
Participants who attended the workshop were able to pick up skills on online marketing, lean startup methodology, user experience design and brand building. The second day of event saw the best teams being judged for their creativity and implementation of their ideas. Winners were then chosen, some of whom would get mentoring support to turn their ideas into fully functional mobile apps.
Acorn Aspirations is a non profit organisation that helps transform young people into the change makers of tomorrow. The company has numerous partnerships with companies like Stripe, Facebook, Google, Salesforce and TechStars. The organisation strives to equip today’s students with skills for jobs that will be in demand in the future. Take a look at some of the pictures of the workshop.
